Wondershare Global Website Launch

Overview

In 2019, Wondershare was scaling rapidly after going public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. With 65+ products, 30M+ annual active users, and an expanding global footprint, the company required a modernized website to unify its brand, communicate with investors, attract customers, and position itself alongside competitors like Adobe and Blackmagic Design.

Situation

The existing wondershare.com had not been updated since 2016 and no longer reflected the company’s ambition or growth. Products had built strong communities individually, but the corporate brand was fragmented and lacked visibility. Analytics showed the majority of traffic came from mobile, yet the experience was not optimized for smaller screens. A redesign was critical to elevate the brand and establish a scalable, future-ready framework.

Task

As UX Design Lead, I was involved from project inception and helped shape strategy, research, and execution across disciplines.

Discovery & Research

  • Ran stakeholder workshops with Marketing, Product, PR, and Business Development.

  • Partnered with a creative copywriter to align messaging and design.

  • Analyzed Google Analytics data to identify key behaviors, emphasizing mobile-first design.

Experience Design

  • Designed sitemap, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.

  • Led stakeholder reviews and prototype testing to validate direction.

Visual & System Design

  • Established a modular grid and component library for scalability.

  • Defined a visual identity system (color, typography, iconography, photography) with Art Directors.

  • Prioritized clarity and simplicity to align with Wondershare’s brand slogan: Technology Simplified.

Results

The redesign delivered measurable improvements in engagement and set the foundation for long-term brand growth. I continued contributing to subsequent iterations in 2021.

  • +15% increase in total page views

  • +15% increase unique page views

  • +13% increase in average time on page

Reflection

This project reinforced the value of aligning stakeholders from multiple functions early in the process. By securing cross-team alignment, we delivered not just a new site but a framework that advanced both brand and business strategy. The key lesson was the importance of designing a modular system rather than focusing only on aesthetics. That decision enabled the site to evolve in later years without the need for a full rebuild, proving the long-term value of scalability and component-driven design.
